Stolen Potatoes.

Wath, Swinton and Kilnhurst Offenders

For the theft of 7lbs. of potatoes, valued 1s., the property of James Harley, farmer, of Low Farm, Hooton Roberts, John Godfrey (61), labourer, of Kilnhurst, was at Rotherham West Riding Police Court on Monday, fined 10s.

James Harley maid he had lost two tons of potatoes since the summer. Godfrey denied stealing the potatoes, and said he was walking round that district.

Archie Cartwright (16), surface worker, of Swinton, was fined 7s. 6d. on each of the following summonses: for having ridden a bicycle without a front light and without a red rear light at Kilnhurst on Oct. 3rd.

P.c. Watson proved the cases.

Percy Daykin (33), miner, of 8, Oak Avenue. Wath, was fined 7s. 6d. for not having had his dog controlled at 2-20 a.m., at Riley Road, Wath.
