Dog Drowned.
Francis Shaw, boat-hauler, of Kilnhurst, summoned for allowing his dog to stray without the name and address on the collar, sent his wife to the Doncaster Court on Tuesday to represent him, and put up a defence that the dog was not his.
A constable gave evidence that he found the dog straying at 1-15 a.m. on June 9th, when he was informed that the dog belonged to defendant.
Witness went to see defendant, who said he had given the dog away. Mrs. Shaw, in reply to the Clerk, said they had a licence in respect of a dog which was owned by their son.
Defendant was fined 9s.
