Sad Accident at Kilnhurst.

A very serious accident befell Mr Thomas Squires on Friday, in the vicinity of the G.C. Station.

The unfortunate young man, it will be remembered, met with an accident whilst following his employment at the Silverwood Colliery some time ago, and has been detained at the Rotherham Hospital up to about a week ago, when he came out partially recovered from his injuries, as to get about with the use of crutches.

It appears that the young man was returning from Dalton Brook by the train which is due at Kilnhurst at 4.28 p.m., and alighted from the train all right, but in going up the steps on to the bridge the sling which he had his injured leg in broke, and the un-fortunate young man fell backwards down the steps and hurt himself very severely.
