Kilnhurst R.A.0.B Ceremony

The presentation of a cigarette case and lighter to Bro. W. Spinks, K.O.M., who has been delegate to the Grand Lodge, and Commander and Knight Secretary for the Don Valley Province, during his six years as a member of the Terrace Pride Lodge, Kilnhurst, was made at the Terrace Inn on Monday. The presentation was made by Sitting Primo Ronnie Brown, and representatives from the Battleship Lodge, Swinton, and the Pride of Canklow Lodge, were present.

Presenting the gift, which was subscribed for by the members of the lodge, S.P. Brown said that be knew of Bro. Spinks’ good work for his lodge, and he also knew that his departure had caused much regret.

Knight H. S. Brown then said that Bro. Spinks had been a good brother to his lodge, and gave details of his career, wishing him success in his new sphere.

Knight H. Cormack said they were sorry to see Bro. Spinks go. He knew Bro. Spinks would continue his work for the Order at Boston, and he expressed the lodge’s gratitude for the services he had rendered during his stay.

Bro. Spinks leaves next week to take up the post of stationmaster at Boston L.N.E.R. station. He has been serving as relief stationmaster at stations in this area during his stay in the district.

The evening was concluded with harmony, and the secretary of the Kilnhurst Lodge, Bro. H. Jackson, was responsible for arrangements.
