Kilnhurst Colliery Accident

Elijah Pearson (15), of 55, South Terrace, Kilnhurst, was badly injured at the Kilnhurst Colliery last Thursday.

He was working on the haulage engine when he got his hand in the machinery.

John Rix, a miner, released him and he was taken to the Montagu Hospital, Mexborough , where four of his fingers had to be amputated.
