Old Friends Leaving

Mr. Arthur Clegg

Mr Arthur Clegg, who for many years as had a pork butchering business at 10, Victoria Street, Kilnhurst, is leaving the village to take up farming. The Parish Church will lose one of its most active workers, for Mr. Clegg has been churchwarden for many years. He is well known and respected in the district, and the good wishes of a large circle of Friends wilt accompany him in his new venture.

The pork butchering business as been taken over by Mr. H. Longden, of Charles Street.

Another old inhabitant, Mr. Arthur Chester of 73 , Charles Street, is shortly leaving to take licensed premises at Mortomley. Mr. Chester was for many years weigh clerk’ at the Thrybergh Hall Colliery.
