Turner’s best
Norton Woodseats 2 Kilnhurst Colliery 4
Kilnhurst colliery soon shocked the Norton Woodseats defence by two quick goals in the Sheffield Association League game at Norton from Taylor and Towie.
Norton fought back, but Turner was playing his best game of the season and was holding their right flank. Youran, substitute for Senior, also had the centre forward marked, and the Norton forwards had to be content with shooting anywhere
Just before the interval Norton reduced the arrears when Kilnhurst stood appealing for offside.
In the second of Kilnhurst played well together and Adey headed a beautiful goal to put them further in front. Kilnhurst then went on defence, but Hepplewhite, Youran and Turner were always safe in stopping Norton attacks.
Taylor added a fourth goal and Norton scored their second on time.
Kilnhurst meet Shipcroft for the third year in succession tomorrow (Saturday) in the Montagu Cup third round.
