Cooperative Society

The report and balance sheet of the Kilnhurst Cooperative Society for the quarter ended April 11 shows total sales £30,161 1s 9d, an increase on the previous quarter of £4,459 18s 4d, and a decrease in the corresponding quarter of last year of £6,753 12s 4d.

The profits amounted to £5,343 17s 5d of which £4,118 9s 5d is absorbed by dividend on members purchases in all departments, at the rate of 2s 9d in the £.

The balance carried forward is £446 7s 8d.

The membership at the end of the quarter was 3223, a net decrease of six on the previous quarter.

The quarterly meeting will be held in the Cooperative Hall tomorrow (Saturday) at 7 p.m. The business includes election for members of the committee. The retiring members, Mr James Beighton, Mr A E Saunders, Mr George Brocket and Mr J H Williams, are eligible for election.
