Assaulted a Station Master
In the Rotherham West Riding Police Court yesterday, Herbert Batley of Leeds, was charged with assaulting Isaac Knott Hayes, Great Central Railway station master at Kilnhurst.
On February 27th the defendant arrived at the station by the 8.53 train, and was walking out of the wrong end of the platform with another man, but was corrected by the station master.
Defendant struck him, and afterwards hit him a second time, when engaged with the ticket collector.
Defendant was fined 20s and costs.
