Trammer Killed at Kilnhurst

last evening, William Wright, 30, trammer of 7 Pearce Street, Rawmarsh was killed while following his employment at the Thrybergh Hall Colliery, Kilnhurst.

He was at work with William Gilliver, the latter being engaged in removing a prop, when the roof suddenly gave way. Gulliver jumped clear, but Wright who had been holding a lamp, was buried by the debris. He called out, “Get me out quick,” but before this could be done a second fall occurred.

When he was uncovered, life was extinct.
