Prisoner of Germans
A card from their elder son, Dvr. Trevor Whitlam (22) of the R.A.S.C. ended a period of anxiety for Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Whitlam, 23 Meadow View Road, Kilnhurst, which started when Dvr. Whitlam was reported missing last October while serving with the Middle East Forces. Dated Dec 27th the card states that Dvr. Whitlam is in Stalag 7a.
He writes that under the circumstances he had a good Christmas. Dvr. Whitlam is a grandson of Mr. and Mrs C. W. Whitlam of Warren Vale Road, Wath, and they and Dvr. Whitlam’s parents have had many enquiries about him.
Volunteering two years ago, Dvr. Whitlam served in North Africa. He was formerly employed at Baker and Bessemer’s.
