Birthday In India

Tpr. John Clement Dawson, only son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Dawson, 101, Highthorn Road, Kilnhurst, on Wednesday celebrated his 21st birthday in India, the second he has celebrated abroad.

He is serving with a detachment of the R.A.C. as a driver-mechanic, joining up two years ago, and going overseas more than a year ago.

Formerly he was employed as an improver bricklayer on the Denaby Collieries estate.  As a boy he was a member of the 1st Swinton Scout Troop.
