Gunner Edward Pickard (20), eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Pickard, of 7 Russell Road, Kilnhurst, has been in the Army for six months and was formerly a clerk at New Stubbin Colliery.

He was born at Kllnhurst and attended the National School.
