A Rotherham Photographer and his Agent
Joseph Wilson Hilton, agent, of Kilnhurst, was charged with embezzling the sum of 21s., the property of his employer, Mr. Alfred Clark, photographer of Frederick-street, Rotherham on March 22nd.
Mr. Gichard .prosecuted, and stated that defendant had been employed by Mr. Alfred Clark, since 1887. His duties were to act as canvasser for orders, and he received commission all orders obtained. He was to devote the whole of his time to Mr. Clark’s service
Mr. Jubb: Last week you said you had a claim for £5 from your employer.
Defendant handed up a paper to the magistrates containing various items which he said is employer owed him.
Mr Gichard said the total amount claimed by his client was about £9. He had that (Monday) morning given defendant a copy of what he owed them.
It was stated that the case seem to be one of account, and it was therefore adjourned for three weeks to give the parties an opportunity in the meantime of trying to make a settlement.
