These clubs played the final tie in the above League on Saturday at Kilnhurst, before a large number of spectators.
The home team comprised Bisby (goal), Hill, Hawcroft, H. Schofield, Bentham, Dawson Blurton, B. Schofield, Lobley, Jubb, and Dyson.
Ecclesfield brought over Allen (goal), Turner, Wells, Hemingfield, G. Gregory, F. Gregory, G. Smith, W. Gregory, A. Higgins, Greaves and Dawson.
Play was of a good quality throughout. In the first half Kilnhurst scored twice, one by Dawson off a corner, and Ecclesfield once, by Dawson from a pass from Greaves. After the change of ends the visitors played with more energy, and Higgins scored from F. Gregory. The homesters were not successfol in getting more, but their antagonists added another by W. Greaves and won.
